Mailing Lists Is t'ai chi chuan practice too time consuming? Make believe you are working at it by spending hours on the internet chatting it up with people just like you. Favorite Mailing Lists The Neijia mailing list http://neijia.stanford.edu has some knowledgeable practitioners among its members. Part of the list's purpose is to share training tips from any of the neijia or internal martial arts. Don't jump right into discussions unless you are sure you know what you are talking about. The list has a low tolerance for goobers. The TCC List has a large membership from around the world and includes many experienced t'ai chi chuan practitioners. Discussion seems open to any topic reasonably related to tai chi chuan. Politeness and courtesy are expected. To subscribe go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TCClist Limited to students of Cheng Man-ch'ing's style of T'ai Chi Ch'uan, the T'ai Chi Ch'uan Forum has some experts among its members. The volume of posts is low. Bickering and discourtesy are forbidden. But if you have a question about CMC style it is the place to go for an authoritative answer. If you want to subscribe go to Tom Krapu's site http://www.krapu4.com/taichi/ While not a mailing list, my favorite internet resource for t'ai chi ch'uan is Lee Scheele's web page. http://scheele.org/lee/tcclinks.html It has hundreds of links to TCC web pages around the world plus a whole lot of good stuff. Lee practices CMC and Wu styles of t'ai chi ch'uan and co administers the TCC List.
Tai Chi Thoughts is a monthly email publication on Taichichuan in the Cheng Man-ching tradition by Wolfe Lowenthal and others. |
